ANT 330: : International Cultural Immersion

Educate, Illuminate, and Inspire yourself to Travel!

 

Are you planning on studying abroad? ANT330 is a 5 week mini-course for students who have applied and who have been accepted to an NAU approved study abroad program.

 

Students can register for this class during the semester that they apply to study abroad.

This workshop will prepare students for a cross-cultural study abroad experience. The course will cover basic topics pertaining to departure, travel, and relocation. Students will be provided with a holistic introduction to social, economic, political and cultural processes in their host country. Students will also examine Indigenous issues, cultural self-awareness, language and communication and cross-cultural problem solving.

ANT 331 and ANT 332

 

Take your study abroad experience to the next level of learning! ANT331 and ANT332 provide a framework for you to explore the deeper intellectual and personal levels of your study abroad experience. Combined with ANT330, completing the series provides a holistic framework from before you leave for your program to evaluating your experience when you return. Students take ANT331 while on their program. This class is web-based and will require a student to explore the process of cultural adjustment and to critically assess the intellectual questions that arise from living and learning overseas. ANT332 is taken once a student completes their study abroad program and returns to NAU.
