We hope these resources will be of use to you now that you have successfully completed an NAU Study Abroad Program. Most students who return to the U.S. after completion of their program relate to our staff that their experience was one of the most significant and profound of their college years. However, we hope you won't let your experience cease to be of importance now that you have returned: falling back into old habits and perspectives you had before studying abroad. Look through these resources which provide a variety of information about the experience of returning home (Return Culture Shock), publications to which you can contribute essays and thoughts on your experience, NAU Programs that foster international exchange on the campus of NAU, and international opportunities that you may want to consider for when you complete your studies at NAU. Congratulations on your success abroad, and Welcome Back to NAU.
It is critical that the Center for International Education receive feedback from students who have participated on a study abroad program. This information helps in our overall evaluation of programs and is also useful information for future students who are considering a study abroad program. Please take a few minutes to complete an evaluation. You can also request a copy from your study abroad advisor.
Handbook: prepared by the NAU Center for Internatioanal Education for Study Abroad Alumni. Please take some time to read this hanbook, which covers everything from logistics with returning to NAU, to Return Culture Shock, the psychological event experienced by many study abroad students once they return to the U.S.

The International Club is an organization made up of the university's international students and American students. It plays a primary role in bridging the cultural gap and integrating its members into the mainstream of university life in America. In addition to acting as the official liaison of the international student body, the club takes an active part in organizing activities for its members and building cultural and international awareness both within the university and the community of Flagstaff.

Community members of the Flagstaff area would like to invite you to participate in the Community/International Student Friendship Program. This program will introduce you to a family or single individual who will get together with you once a month or more often as schedules permit. These people are different ages, with or without children. You will be assigned to one family or single individual for the time you are at NAU. They are interested in learning about different countries and cultures. You in turn will gain an understanding of American family life. They may invite you to their home for dinner, holiday and birthday celebrations, picnics, sporting events, musical programs, sightseeing, etc.
Now that you have returned from a study abroad experience, don't hesitate to explore additional international options, or, don't rule out doing another study abroad program through NAU. Below is a list of web links to international opportunities that may be of interest
