about us: task force on global education
Global Learning Legislation Adopted By NAU Faculty Senate
Report of the Task Force for Global Education
Executive Summary of the Report
The Task Force for Global Education was established in February 2008 and charged by the President and the Provost to develop recommendations that would transform the university into a global campus and that would prepare NAU students to become globally competent. The Task Force was convened as a direct result of the University Strategic Plan which articulates seven goals that includes a commitment to global engagement. Five subcommittees have been established as part of this Task Force in which most of the work of developing the recommendations will occur. The campus community has been invited to participate in the work of the subcommittees and the membership of these subcommittees reflected a broad cross-section of campus constituencies. The five subcommittees reflected the following topics: Student Development, Faculty Development, Global Learning, Community Engagement and Infrastructure/Advancement. Recommendations from these subcommittees will be presented to the Task Force and after appropriate deliberations and amendments, the Task Force will prepare a report embracing these recommendations for presentation to the President and the Provost.
