The Center for International Education encourages students to get involved in service learning abroad. While studying abroad by itself is an amazing experience, students who participate in service learning programs tend to get a more passionate approach to helping other human beings.
Some NAU study abroad programs may provide an internship experice. You can find this information, if available, in the programs section.
All service learning programs must be approved by our office as well as your academic advisor. No exceptions.
Please note that while we are providing you with the contact information below for various service learning providers, CIE does not guarantee the transfer of credits from any of them until you talk to your academic advisor and our office. In addition, you must talk to the financial aid office if you wish to obtain any type of funding (usually student loans) for your service learning experience.
