FACULTY OPPORTUNITIES: program development
Interested in starting your own study abroad program? The Center for International Education can help you make your dream a reality. With our expertise in international education, many faculty find our advice and support of crucial importance when going to the process of getting a study abroad program approved
Funding generally comes from fees students pay to participate, so the acaemic department usually doesn't have to provide financial support. However, the academic department must provide support in the form of allowing the faculty member to teach the proposed course abroad. In addition, all faculty expenses are covered by the program, and faculty are compensated according to the standard summer session salary relative to rank and number of credits offered, as approved by the Office of the Provost. No exceptions are made in regards to salary as it is an institutional policy.
When ready, proposals must be submitted to the Center for International Education for review by the International Education Advisory Committee. Approval from this committe is required for the program to move forward.
