General Principles Governing the Northern Arizona University Sino-American Degree program requirements

北亚利桑那大学管理中美双学位项目要求的一般原则

 

1) The NAU degree shall be awarded following both,

    • the successful completion of degree requirements as listed in the the study plans provided, AND
    • the conferral of the home, Chinese university degree

1) 北亚利桑那大学的学位将授予符合下列条件的中国学生：

  • A) 根据学习计划成功完成北亚利桑那大学学位要求；
  • B) 同时完成中方大学的学位要求。

2) 1+2+1 students are therefore considered “second degree-seeking” students. This means

    • Students are not required to complete the liberal studies program (with the exception of Business students, who are required to complete this program to meet specific Business/AASCB accreditation requirements)
    • Students must therefore complete only general university requirements and major requirements. Please note that some majors require completion of a minor.

2) 1+2+1 学生因此被视为“寻求第二学位”的学生。这意味着：

  • A) 1+2+1 学生不需要完成人文学习课程项目 ( 学商业管理课程的学生例外。这些 学生需要完成人文学习课程项目以满足特别的商业管理与 AASCB 认证的课 程要求。

  • General university requirements include
    • ENG 105,
    • MAT 110 or higher (this requirement is met by the calculus math courses taken by Chinese students in their first year),
    • 3 units of U.S. Ethnic Diversity course-work and
    • 3 units of Global Diversity course-work. It is assumed, but not final, that the Global Diversity requirement will be met by the general academic curriculum course-work completed by students in their first year.

  • 一般大学课程要求包括：
    • (1) 英语 105
    • (2) 数学 110 或更高级课程 ( 中国学生在母校第一年修的数学课程已满足 这个要求 ) ，
    • (3) 3 个学分的美国种族多样性课程，
    • (4) 3 个学分的全球多样性文化课程 ( 中国学生在其第一年完成的一般学术 课程可以满足这个要求 ) ，

3) Course-work completed in the 1 st year in China may be applied to specific degree requirements listed in the study plans provided.

    • Study plans have been devised assuming that students have not completed any course-work in their first year that can be applied to their NAU degree requirements, unless otherwise noted in the study plan;
    • therefore, students who have taken course-work in China that meets NAU requirements may take fewer courses/units to complete their degree requirements than is listed in the study plans.
    • Please note that only the major department (and, if applicable, minor department) may approve non-NAU course-work to be applied to major (and minor) requirements. Students will automatically be informed upon arrival at NAU if any of their first year course-work may be applied to their NAU degree-requirements. Those who wish to have approval decided prior to their arrival at NAU may do so by sending descriptions of the courses to the departmental contacts listed below.

3) 1+2+1 学生在中国第一年完成的课程也许可以满足学习计划中所列的

特别学位的课程要求 。

    • A) 这个学习计划假定，中国学生在第一年没有完成任何 NAU 学位所要求的课程 , 除非学习计划另有说明。
    • B) 中国学生在第一年完成了 NAU 所要求的学位课程，也许可以上更少的课或获 较少的学分来完成其在 NAU 的学位，而不需要修完学习计划中所有的课程。
