Costs for International Students for 2007/2008 Academic Year

The dollar amounts shown below are presented as a guide only. They are average figures based upon the experience of many students. The amounts shown are subject to change without notice.

 

The amounts shown assume you will live on campus and have the meal plan of your choice. It also assumes you do not plan to buy an automobile and that you will come to NAU without a spouse or children. If you are bringing family members with you, you should plan for family needs in addition to the expenses indicated below. Please contact the Office of International Admissions for information on the amounts necessary for family members.

Your Financial Guarantee must cover the expenses listed below. University tuition and other fees must be paid when you register for classes at the beginning of each semester unless you have enrolled in a tuition payment plan with the Bursar's Office.

 

Please note: NAU Student Health Insurance is mandatory for all international students. No exceptions can be made.

Class fees, program fees, and summer session course and living expenses are NOT included.

 

Financial Guarantee

 

You may use a combination of Personal Funds, Family Funds, Individual Sponsors or Scholarship Funds for your Financial Guarantee.  Please include the documents described below with this application:
Personal, Family or Individual Sponsor funds

  • These funds must be listed on a bank statement printed on bank letter head.  Account statements listed on paper that is not bank letterhead cannot be accepted. 
  • The statement must indicate a specific amount of funds available for withdrawal. 
  • The statement must be dated within six months of the first day of the semester for which you are applying (for example, if you are applying for the fall semester, and that semester begins on August 20, your statement must be dated February 20 or later).
  • Certificates of Deposit may be used only if they will mature by the first day of the semester for which you are applying, or if the statement specifically states the amount on the statement are available for withdrawal at any time.

Scholarship funds:  These funds must be awarded by a governmental or non-profit organization.  Your award letter

  • must be on letterhead from the awarding organization,
  • must list the exact amount of the scholarship,
  • must be dated within six months of the first day of the semester for which you are applying and
  • must indicate the period of time for which you are funded. 


 

 

Some classes may require special fees or deposits in addition to tuition fees.
