Academic Training (AT) is work, job training, or experience related to a J-1 student’s field of study as it is stated on the DS-2019.
A J-1 student may participate in AT during or after his/her studies, in a paid or unpaid position.

- request a job offer letter, with the information required on the handout from the
Center for International Education, and take this letter to the academic advisor,
- ask the academic advisor to review the job offer letter and complete the academic
advisor form from the Center for International Education, and

international student advisor to request approval for AT.
